About Me
In Québec where I grew up, French was my first language and my best subject. Prompted by my mother's proud Irish roots, I also developed a growing interest for English and went on to become a professional translator. Aside from my school assignments, the first English language novel I read was Love and Friendship by Alison Lurie, and I remember thinking, if I become a writer someday, that's how I want to write!

At first, I was intrigued by the notion that writers could invent human beings entirely from scratch, with the ability to make them think, do and say absolutely anything they chose. What power! What fun! Then, with singular fascination, I realized I too could be one of them, that I had that same potential to make imaginary characters and situations come to life.

Writing is my oxygen. It gives me a sense that I'm somehow in control, that I can reconstruct the world and give it accessible meaning. In the end, writing allows me the awesome thrill and joy of creation but more importantly, it makes me feel connected.
